Yes, that was Victor in Help!

Victor Spinetti is a talented Welsh actor with outstanding stage, screen and television credentials dating back to the ‘50s. He has appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as romped through such films as The Return of the Pink Panther.

Victor also played a leading role in Beatlemania with hilarious roles in three Beatles films: A Hard Day’s Night, Help! and Magical Mystery Tour. Victor has not only been a close friend to the group, but became a central figure in our lives during the mid ‘60s.

Read his biography on The Internet Movie Database.

We camped outside the stage door at Philadelphia’s Forrest Theatre when he performed in Oh! What a Lovely War in September ’64. Down-to-earth and charming, he regaled us with Beatle stories. Two weeks later we founded the Official Victor Spinetti Fan Club of America, Chapter One.
The actor sent us souvenirs from the set of Help!—including the Beatles’ autographs on an in-flight menu, and the fuzzy sweater he wore in A Hard Day’s Night. In turn, we bestowed fan club membership on the Beatles.
Victor shares his memories of those magical days with the press, and has popped up at Beatles’ conventions. He remains one of the most endearing and outstanding individuals I have known.

And it has been 42 years.
